The Next Big Thing: Facebook Live

In an attempt to keep up with Periscope, the Twitter-owned live video application, Facebook has made an announcement that it will begin to rank live videos higher in users feeds while they are being live streamed.

Announced in August 2015 and launched shortly after, Facebook Live was initially only available for use by those with a verified Facebook page; think along the lines of celebrities including sports players, models and actors. In December 2015, however, the company announced their release of Facebook Live for all users.

While the concept of live video streaming isn’t necessarily brand new, it’s really come to the surface in recent years, thanks to popular apps such as Periscope and Meerkat. It seems Facebook wants in on the action and their latest announcement makes this clear. Users will be able to easily choose the Live Video option, select the audience they’d like to stream with, and records of their live streams will be made available on their Facebook feeds after.

With this shift from image to video, comes a need for better quality equipment. Unlike with images, video cannot be as easily filtered or edited in Photoshop. The key to a good quality video? Lighting! Ask any experience videographer and they’ll gush about the importance of the right lighting set up when filming. If you want to impress your friends, it’s crucial you have good quality lighting.

The best (and more affordable) solution on the market is Chatlight. Our innovative, portable lighting tool clips easily on to any smartphone. Turn it on and select your preferred lighting set up and you have studio-quality lighting on the go. Whether you’re live streaming from a concert, a day at the beach, or dinner with friends, your video quality will see a vast improvement.

Don’t take our word for it though, order yours today!
